Dimming & controls coordination
Light that dims the way it was promised
Dimming failure is the most common — and most avoidable — lighting defect: flicker at low level, pop-on, dead travel, channels that never worked. It is almost always a mismatch between driver and control protocol. We coordinate the two from the start: protocol selection, driver matching per configuration, circuiting and zoning logic, and scene intent that your controls contractor can commission.
The problem this solves
Fittings and controls are usually bought by different people at different times. Nobody checks the pairing until dimmers are commissioned — when driver swaps mean opened ceilings and programme damage.
What is included
- Control-protocol guidance — ON-OFF, phase, 1-10 V, DALI — per project
- Driver-to-protocol compatibility confirmed for each specified configuration
- Circuiting and zoning advice aligned to how spaces are used
- Scene and preset intent documented for commissioning
- Coordination with your electrician, controls contractor or integrator
What you provide
- The chosen or preferred control system, if one exists
- Electrical layouts or circuit intent
- How each space should behave — day, evening, entertaining, night
What you receive
- A controls-coordination schedule mapped to the product specification
- Driver and protocol documentation per fitting type
- Scene-intent notes for the commissioning engineer
What happens next
Controls decisions feed the specification and quotation, and we stay available to your controls contractor through commissioning. Commissioning itself remains with the appointed contractor.
