Commercial

Lighting for hotels, restaurants, retail and offices

Commercial lighting specification and complete package supply for London projects — from a single restaurant fit-out to a multi-phase development. We resolve atmosphere, visual comfort, controls and maintenance into one documented specification, then supply it as one accountable package.

Commercial schemes fail in the gaps: between the design intent and the schedule, between the schedule and the tender, between the tender and what arrives on site. Our job is to close those gaps — exact variants confirmed early, controls compatibility resolved per circuit and delivery coordinated to programme.

Sectors

The problems each sector actually has

Every commercial sector buys lighting for different reasons. The specification should reflect that — not a generic schedule with the logo changed.

Hotels & hospitality

A hotel is judged in light: arrival, bar, corridor, room. We help set warm, layered public areas against calm, glare-controlled guest rooms, with dimming scenes that carry the property from breakfast through to the last drink. Specification discipline matters at scale — consistent colour temperature and colour rendering across hundreds of fittings, and product families chosen so maintenance and replacements stay manageable for the life of the fit-out. Emergency-lighting compliance remains with the appointed professionals; we coordinate compatible products where the specified families support them.

Restaurants & bars

Restaurants live on faces and food: soft vertical light that flatters guests, focused accents that make each table its own pool of light, and background levels low enough to build atmosphere without losing legibility. Glare control at seated eye lines is decisive — one visible bright source across the room undoes the interior. Scene-set dimming carries the space from lunch service to late evening on a single specification.

Retail

Retail lighting sells vertically: illuminance on merchandise, walls and displays rather than on the floor. High colour rendering keeps product colour honest, while considered accent ratios draw customers through the space. Track and magnetic systems keep the scheme adjustable as merchandising changes, and consistent specification keeps every store in an estate reading as the same brand.

Offices & workplaces

Workplaces need visual comfort above all: UGR<19 optics for screen-based work, uniform general lighting and a considered balance of ambient and task light. DALI dimming supports zoning and daylight-linked control strategies, and efficient linear platforms keep energy performance defensible without flattening the space. Acoustic luminaire variants can address light and sound absorption in one ceiling element. Emergency-lighting compliance remains with the appointed professionals; we coordinate compatible products where supported.

Mixed-use & developments

Across amenity spaces, lobbies, circulation and back-of-house, a development needs one consistent specification rather than a different answer per package. We build lighting schedules that hold their logic across cores and phases, confirm exact variants against the drawings and coordinate delivery to programme. One accountable package reduces the interface failures — wrong drivers, mismatched colour temperatures, orphaned accessories — that otherwise surface at handover.

Specification discipline

What commercial specification demands

Six things we resolve on every commercial scheme before a single fitting is ordered.

Vertical illuminance

Faces, merchandise and walls are what people actually see. Schemes are planned around vertical surfaces, not just lux on the floor.

Glare control

UGR<19 optics for workplaces and controlled beams elsewhere keep bright sources out of sight lines and screens.

Maintenance & consistency

Consistent product platforms and colour performance, so replacements match the original scheme and the installation ages evenly.

Energy performance

Efficient LED platforms and dimming strategies that respect operating cost without flattening the atmosphere.

Controls-ready

ON-OFF, phase, 1-10 V and DALI options across core families, with driver and protocol compatibility confirmed per configuration.

Specification consistency

Exact variants documented once and held across sites, phases and tenders — no silent substitutions.

Questions

Commercial projects, answered

If your question is not here, ask us directly — a specialist replies, not an auto-responder.

Ask a technical question
Is the initial consultation and quotation free?

Yes. The consultation and a complete, itemised project quotation are free of charge, and for qualified projects an initial concept design can also be prepared at no cost. We will always tell you before any stage of work would carry a cost.

Can you support a tender or value-engineering exercise?

Yes. Send the drawings, lighting schedule or BoQ and we will return a complete quotation with exact variants — optic, beam angle, colour temperature, CRI, finish, driver and dimming protocol confirmed per line. Where alternatives make sense we propose them transparently, never as silent substitutions.

Do you support DALI and other control systems?

Yes. Core NEKO families offer ON-OFF, phase, 1-10 V and DALI options. We confirm the exact driver and protocol compatibility for every specified configuration and coordinate with your controls contractor or commissioning engineer.

Can you hold one specification across multiple sites or phases?

Yes. Every fitting is documented to its exact variant, so later phases, additional sites or replacement orders are placed against the same specification. That consistency is most of what keeps a multi-site brand reading as one brand.

What are your lead times?

Honestly stated: lead times vary by family, finish and configuration, so they are confirmed at order against the manufacturer's production slots. We flag longer-lead items at quotation stage so programme decisions can be made early rather than on site.

Do you deliver emergency lighting compliance?

No — emergency-lighting design and compliance remain with the appointed professionals on your project. Where the specified families support emergency versions, we coordinate compatible products so the emergency layer sits within the same visual language as the main scheme.
